Review: I am a horror fan and I am a huge fan of the found footage horror films, like The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, REC and Paranormal Activity. And I have to say that Apollo 18 is another great found footage film. I know that with these films being marketed as real, people expect something different, but as all horror fans know by now, this isnt the case.

You can compare Apollo 18 to nearly all found footage horror films but that does not make the horror any less effective, there are some really good scare scenes in Apollo 18 that do make you jump quite a few times, which is something I have experienced since Paranormal Activity. Like Cloverfield the alien creatures are not fully revealed, we only see a few glimpses of the rock like creatures that do resemble crabs or spiders.

The acting is really good by the two cast members, and the storyline is simple but works really well. The tension does build throughout the film, and when they enter the dark shadows of the craters, it becomes unrelenting.

My only downside to the film is that it ended too soon, I believe that they could have ended it in a better way, but I still really enjoyed this film. If you are a fan of The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, or any other found footage horror film, then give this a try and do not be put off by the negative reviews. It is one of my favourite found footage films that I have seen.

Even though the players could be somewhat mismatched with the director, Apollo 18 results in a solid movie. Genuinely greater then I expected.

Apollo 18 is a good motion picture. Good place.

  3. adeline says:

In Apollo 18 Rodney is a hitman for a crime syndicate (or “cleaner” as he would rather be recognized) living a single existence in New York City. Nearly off of his employment comes from a mafia lord named Jerry, who operates the
Johnson Furniture retail store. Rodney spends his spare time engaging in exercising, nurturing a Geranium plant that early on in Apollo 18 he reports as his best friend and watching old Gene Kelly films.

Gloria, a 10-year old girl, is living an unenviable life among her family. Her father stores drugs for a two-faced policeman named Max. Only her little brother keeps Gloria from coming apart. These scenes are where Apollo 18 is genuinely warm-toned.

One day, Max and his cohorts take cruel revenge on her family member for diluting the drugs a little, thusly wiping out the complete family. Only Gloria, who was out shopping, survives by finding protection in Rodneys apartment in the instant of highest need.

Before Long, Gloria finds out about the unusual neighbours peculiar profession – killing – and urgently seeks his help in seeking revenge for her little brothers death. Rodney, who is wholly inexperienced in paternal jobs, and in friendly relationships, does his best to keep Gloria out of difficulty – not very successfully.

Now, in Apollo 18, the conflict between a killer, who begins to discover his powers to feel and to love and a crooked policeman, who does everything in his power to eliminate an eye witness, rises up to unmeasured dimensions – all for the sake of a young girl, who has virtually nothing to lose.

The ending of Apollo 18 is emotional Dont miss this film.

My aunt advocated Apollo 18, and it was real. Wonderful actors and really tragic. I hope to catch this film again. I recognize that it is a picture show I could view several times.

I thought the film maybe win numerous honors. I don’t know if that is typical or not. But Apollo 18 is a nice picture to savor.

Apollo 18 – Governed by the vicious Satorianes, an aging cult of Japanes boxers, the Zioxians, are bent on earth mastery. Crucial to their program is a map to the previous Zioxian religious cult god, recently discovered by a teen boy, Billy. When the Zioxians invade his abode to retrieve the map, he leaves and ends up in the bed of a passing pickup truck, driven by Rodney. They become admirers, and in concert search for the missing idol before the Zioxians can demand it and take over the Earth.

Rick Hadley wakes up in a motel room bewildered why he is there, at the beginning of Apollo 18. The phone rings and he starts out to talk with an unnamed caller. He sets out telling the story of one Sammy Martin. He says Martin was a gentleman who claimed to short-term amnesia or amnesia. Any recent memories and experiences are forgot within a few minutes.

The protagonist of Apollo 18 was a former insurance investigator assigned to observe if Martins condition will be covered under his insurance coverage. After testing, Leonard reasoned that Martins circumstance was psychological and his claim was refused. Martins wife is a diabetic who was told by Leonard (in trying to placate her), that Martin could actually make new memories. Later On, she tested Martin to see if he would be able to remember. But he repeatedly gave her insulin injections and she lapsed into a coma and died from the overdose. It was a form of self-destruction because she could not deal with his crazy condition anymore. Poor Martin was locked up in a insane asylum not able to remember his wifes death.

Apollo 18 is one of those movies to recollect, for sure. Do not overlook it.

Setsaka and Sesinta are brother and sister living in wartime Japan in Apollo 18. After their mother is killed in an air raid they regain a improvised home with relations. Having quarreled with their cousins they allow for the city and make their abode in an unoccupied shelter. While their father’s circumstances as a soldier is unbeknown the two must rely on each other to somehow keep a roof over their heads and something in their tummies. When everything is in lean supply, they step by step yield to hunger and their only amusement is laughing with each other.

  11. candace says:

In Apollo 18, a troubled adolescent, Bill, escapes dying when a jet-engine slams into his bedroom, because he pursues a gigantic rabbit taking him outdoors. The bunny rabbit, called Winson, advises him that the world will end in 29 days. As the final day comes nearer the teen is into an awful number of events that may or may not be a product of rising instability.

As Apollo 18 advances he attempts to comprehend why he survived and attempts to deal with people in his town, like the schoolyard bully, his conservative science teacher, and a self-help guru, the rabbit continues to turn up in his head, stimulating him to commit acts of malicious mischief and worse. The bunny begins to tell him about the engrossing mysteries of fourth dimension travel.

I will not divulge the end but I will say, unquestionably
    view Apollo 18.

Here is how Apollo 18 pictures the roberry is accomplished in detail from various points of view:

At the commencement of the 8th race, Maurice starts a wrangle at Mikes bar. The race courwse guards conquer him. While they are tied up, George opens the doorway to the payroll office and Johnny sneaks through. Johnny gets out a rapid-firing shotgun that Mike planted before in his storage locker, puts on a disguise and robs the four shop assistants at the payroll office. Johnny squeezes $3 million in hard currency into a huge bag and drops it out the window. Randy, waiting below, takes the bag, drives to a motel, and deposits it in a room that Johnny is leasing. Johnny then runs from the raceway in the mix-up and terror caused when Nikki shoots the race horse, Red Rusty, with a
high powered rifle from a far-off parking lot. But Nikki is killed by a cop, who shoots him as he undertakes to get away.

Subsequently, George, Randy, Marvin and Mike wait at Johnnys flat for him to show up with the cabbage when they are flabbergasted by Val and an accomplice of his demanding to find out where the plunder is. A gun fight results and everybody is killed, except George who, though fearfully injured, hauls himself home and bumps off Sherry who admits that she cheated on him, before dying himself.

When Johnny determines that his pardners are in trouble, he shoves the raceway prize in an old suitcase and breaks to the airport and joins with Fay so they can leave behind town. They both purchase tickets to Wyoming, but the airport personnel refuse to let Johnny pack the enormous grip on the plane, and he reluctantly checks the suitcase .

On the runway, the grip bearing the dough drops off a baggage tram which veers to keep from hitting a snott, rich ladys pet dog. The luggage busts open, and the moolah is strewn in all directions.

In Apollo 18s final aspect Johnny and Fay endeavor to hightail it from the airport, but they fail to hail a cab. “No matter really?”, Johnny pronounces as the police get closer and closer.

Apollo 18 – Examines the disenchantment of an aging doctor, Professor Neldstrom, as he meditates upon his life and starts to perceive his mortality.

Apollo 18 unfolds as 80-year-old Isaac Neldstrom, is in bed at his house. He dreams about being on a town alleyway with no-body present. A clock hanging up above the alleyway has no hands. He checks his own timepiece – it also has no hands. A form appears with his back turned. Isaac goes to the shape and touches it. The form has no face. The body tumbles onto the pavement. Blood pours out of the figure.

Next a hearse dragged by a brace of horses turns a street corner and enters the street wherethe dream-Isac is standing. It nears Isaac and then passes by him but its back wheel gets caught on a lamppost. Although no one is driving the hearse, the horses continue forwards. The left hindermost wheel bursts off at the lamppost. The horses and hearse drive off but the casket comes loose, and slides out and onto the street. A hand appears on the exterior of the casket. Isaac views the paw. His own hand as well as the other arm stretched out from the casket touch, with the coming out of the coffin holding in Isaac. The body in the coffin is also Isaac. Apollo 18 shows him as he comes alive.

As he journeys to Denmark to receive an honorary award after fifty-five years of being a doctor, he finds himself again affected by encroaching nightmares and hallucinations that reveal his most sinister concerns. He slowly comes to realise in Apollo 18 that the options he made in the past tense have created a frozen and insignificant life, devoid of real meaning or respect.

A shootout ensues and all are killed, except George who, though gravely injured, drags himself home and shoots down Sherry who admits that she deceived him, before kicking the bucket himself.

When his mother’s dying wish, to be laid to rest in the family crypt, is not accepted by the family, Louis is irate and overeager for retaliation. Numerous D’Antoinnes stand between him and the dukedom conferred upon the D’Antoinne kinsfolk many many years ago. In a madness, he purposes to wipe out all of them, one by one, and, there upon, become the duke. He studies the D’Antoinne family and finds ways to weave in and out of their lives, step by step endearing himself to each one and earning the access he calls for to carry out his bloody plot.

In the course of his taxonomic, and totally undiscovered, elimination of the D’Antoinnes, Louis becomes very intimate with Jayne, the sweet widow of one of the family members he has killed. This creates some latent hostility with his long-time, and winning, lady friend Cynthia.

After the bloodthirsty plan is borne out successfully in Apollo 18, Louis insures the dukedom he has sought after, but in a bizarre turn of events, he is implicated in a murder which he did not do, found guilty, and put in prison. In fact, Louis has been cheated by the testimonial of Cynthia, who wants to be the duches, but sees that Jayne, already a D’Antoinne by marriage, will attain the title.

A sentenced man soon to be hanged, Louis spends the sentence in stir by authoring his memoirs, a elaborate history of his blood-filled exploits. Cynthia out of the blue visits Louis in jail, which he finds objectionable as she has figured so conspicuously in his impending execution for a crime uncommitted, but she promptly makes the reason of her visit transparent. She proffers to plant evidence that would exonerate Louis from guilt if he agrees to marry her, making her the duchess, after departing prison. He establishes the deal with her and within a few days after she dispatches her end of the bargain, he is discharged from jail.

As he gets out of the jail at the end of Apollo 18, both Cynthia and Jayne are there to meet him and go away with him, and, all of a sudden, faced with a selection of two gorgeous gentlewomen, he seems to hold all the cards again. Or does he? As he meditates on his choice, a reporter comes near him adverting the possible publishing of his memoirs, and, disgustedly, Louis pictures that he has left grounds that will certainly condemn him within the surrounds of the jail, a sudden and especially unkind turn of doom!

Apollo 18 – Johnny Baker, an ex-con, devises a $3 million racecourse robbery. His confederates are raceway cashier George Evans, the barman Mike Sawyer, crooked policeman Randy Corsica, and former alcoholic Marvin Sweetwater, who funds the procedure. Johnnys fiancee, Linda, fears that he could be returned to prison for this crime but he assures her that the jeopardies are worth taking.

George needs the proceeds to give to his snappy and self-loving wife Sherry, who is carrying on an affair with Val Madsen, whom is seeking to sway Sherry to let him murder George so they can run off with his cash. Mike needs the cash to nurse his perpetually sick spouse. Randy is revealed to want the money to pay back some local bookies for gambling debts.

Shortly after the beginning of Apollo 18, during their group meeting, George catches Sherry snooping on the group and subdues her. He sends out the others, accepting George, home to speak with her. Johnny recognizes that Sherry is a chiseller only out for money, and he assures her that he will pay her a big part of their loot whenever it gets carried off. However, Sherry, being the woman she is, tells Val who agrees to steal the booty afterwards so they can possess it all for themselves.

Johnny hires Nikki Solte, a gun for hire and Maurice Quentin, a former ex con and Greek matman, to produce deflections at the commencement of the 8th race when the stick-up will start.

Here is how Apollo 18 indicates the stickup is executed in detail from assorted points of view:

At the beginning of the 8th race, Maurice starts a bash at Mikes saloon. The racecourse guards overcome him. While they are concerned, George opens up the door to the payroll department office and Johnny slips through. Johnny gets out a quick-firing rifle that Mike planted before in his footlocker, puts on a mask and robs the 3 shop assistants at the payroll office. Johnny stuffs $3 million in hard currency into a deep pocketbook and thrusts it out the window. Randy, at the ready below, takes up the bag, drives to a hotel, and deposits it in a room that Johnny is letting. Johnny then turns tail from the racecourse in the mix-up and scare caused when Nikki shoots the race horse, Red Rusty, with a
high powered rifle from a far-off parking lot. But Nikki is shot down by a cop, who shoots him down as he undertakes to flee.

Afterwards, George, Randy, Marvin and Mike await at Johnnys apartment for him to surface with the bread when they are astounded by Val and an accomplice of his wanting to know where the plunder is. A gun fight ensues and they are all killed, except George who, though fearfully hurt, drags himself home and wipes out Sherry who acknowledges that she sold him, before dying himself.

When Johnny determines that his collaborators are in big trouble, he thrusts the racetrack prize in an old travelling bag and goes to the airport and meets with Fay so they can leave town. They both buy tickets to Montana, but the airport officials decline to let Johnny transport the huge grip on the jet plane, and he very reluctantly checks the traveling bag .

On the airport runway, the bag bearing the dough tumbles off a luggage truck which veers to avoid hitting a snobby, rich ladys little pet dog. The travelling bag bursts open, and the plunder is spread out in all directions.

In Apollo 18s final aspect Johnny and Fay endeavor to run away from the airport, but find they cannot hail a cab. “What difference does it make?”, Johnny states as the police force close in on them.

Apollo 18 – Explores the disillusionment of an ageing Dr., Professor Neldstrom, as he reflects upon his lifetime and begins to perceive his mortality.

Apollo 18 unfolds as 80-year-old Isaac Neldstrom, is in bed at his house. He dreams of being on a city alleyway with noone else present. A timepiece hanging up above the street has no hands. He checks his own timepiece – it likewise has no hands. A shape appears with his back turned. Isaac walks up to the figure and touches it. The figure has no face. The form falls on onto the paving. Blood wells out out of the body.

Then a hearse drawn by a team of horses turns a corner and comes into the street on which the dream-Isac is standing. It comes near Isaac and then passes by him but its back wheel gets caught on a lamp post. Although nobody is driving the hearse, the team of horses continue forwards. The left rear wheel fractures off at the lamppost. The team of horses and hearse run off but the casket comes loose, and glides out and onto the alley way. A hand appears on the outside of the casket. Isaac looks at the paw. His own hand as well as the other one stretched out from the coffin reach, with the coming out of the coffin holding Isaac. The figure in the coffin is also Isaac. Apollo 18 shows him as he wakens.

As he journeys to London to receive an honorary honor after sixty years of medical practice, he finds himself repeatedly affected by invasive dreams and delusions that bring out his blackest dreads. He slowly comes to see in Apollo 18 that the selections he made in the past times have created a dead and bare life, devoid of real meaning or respect.

Finally, at the end of Apollo 18 he achieves redemption and reintegration through pardon and the passion of his kin. Five stars.

In Apollo 18 in southwestern New Mexico during the waning days of the old frontier towns, five triggermen all wearing long duster overcoats take over an isolated depot and settle in to wait for the coach. When it at last comes in, a unnamed man gets down and asks for somebody called Frank. The gunslingers tell the man Frank sent them in his place. In the ensuing face-off, all the gunslingers go down. Only the stranger in Apollo 18 gets up again.

The Apollo 18 theme to the starting panorama is a inventive compilation of nondescript voices in the style of John Williams. The composer uses nondescript sounds, to emphasize the tiresomeness of awaiting the stagecoach. The lean dialog allows for the soundtrack to take very much more of our interest than a score ordinarily does.
