Tagline: Ever wish your boss were dead?

Review: On paper, Horrible Bosses seems like a ripoff of Throw Momma from the Train or Strangers on a Train, the Hitchcock film of which this film and Throw Momma take inspiration from. But trust me, this movie is actually original in its plot structure as there were plot twists I did not see coming. When the summer began, I first thought Bridesmaids was the funniest movie of the year, but I have to say Horrible Bosses will now take that claim.

The movie follows three decent working class guys played by Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day. Jason Batemans character Nick, who works for a cruel tyrant of a boss played by Kevin Spacey. Jason Sudeikiss character Kurt is a hard working man who has a very nice boss, whose tragic incident leaves the company in the hands of his bullying, cocaine addicted son, played by Colin Farrell. Dale, played by Charlie Day, probably has the least horrible boss in Jennifer Aniston, playing a completely different character than people are used to seeing her in. All three guys hate their jobs and two of the three are involved in blackmail, leading them to their next possible choice, kill each others bosses. You are probably thinking since this is a studio comedy, everything will be wrapped up in a nice little package. And in a way, it is. But at least it did not change its tone and the ending was rather satisfactory.

Everyone is pretty much does their part in this movie but Charlie Day is the one who stands out here. Anyone who has seen him on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia knows how hilarious he is on that show and he does not disappoint here. It was nice to see Jennifer Aniston do something different she had not done before. This is the type of movie that the less you know, the more enjoyable it will be. Horrible Bosses is a real surprise and will keep you laughing until the end.

Horrible Bosses opens as psychotic mother’s boy Frank Anthony meets well-known tennis pro Guy Hilton on a train. Guy wants to proceed into a vocation in politics and has been dating a senator’s daughter while expecting a divorce from his wife. Anthony needs to snuff out his dad but acknowledges he will be picked up because he has a motive. Anthony thinks of a fantastic strategy in which he and Guy interchange slayings. Guy takes this as a joke, but Anthony is serious and takes affairs into his own hands.

Anthony, will wipe out Guy’s estranged spouse if Guy will kill Anthony’s despised father. Guy doesn’t take Anthony seriously until his wife, Mary, is discovered murdered in a clearing. Guy becomes the chief suspect, which threatens his pro career; his warm involvement with another woman; his hopes for a political career; and yet his life. When it becomes manifest to Anthony that Guy isn’t going to kill his dad, he tells Guy that he intends to establish Guy’s guilt once and for all by planting his monogrammed cigarette lighter in the place where his wife was executed. Guy’s attempts to block Anthony make Horrible Bosses a real nail-biter.

Horrible Bosses – In the Eucadoran jungle, supplies of precarious nitroglycerin are urgently needed at a remote oil field, to try and quell an oil well fire that is nearly out of control.

A pair of trucks driven by four freedom fighters carries the highly perilous nitroglycerin. A cliff-hanging rivallry builds up betwixt the two teams of drivers, where on the challenging and untrod routes the smallest jerk can result in death in Horrible Bosses.

Their interminable, racking drive over dreadful roads with their payload ready to set off at every jar and shake up makes Horrible Bosses very edgy and breathtaking. The drivers are running a risk with their own lives against the chance to break away from their steaming, sordid and mean environment.

John Mainard wakes up in a motel suite confused why he is there, at the beginning of Horrible Bosses. The phone rings and he sets out to talk to an unknown caller. He starts telling the chronicle of one Sammy Martin. He says Martin was a gentleman who claimed to be suffering from short-term memory loss or amnesia. Any new memories and experiences are blocked within a few minutes.

The protagonist of Horrible Bosses was a former insurance investigator assigned to observe if Martins condition will be covered under his insurance. After screening, Leonard concluded that Martins circumstance was psychological and his claim was denied. Martins wife is a diabetic who was told by Leonard (in trying to mollify her), that Martin indeed could make fresh memories. Later On, she tested Martin to see if he could remember. But he repeatedly gave her insulin injections and she sank into a coma and expired from an overdose. It was a form of suicide because she could not cope with his crazy illness anymore. As the woman brings out the trueness about the the rogues secret background, she too distinguishes the trueness about herself – and comes forth as his implausible ally in the apogee of his plot to bestow freedom and justness back to a fellowship heavy with cruelty and depravation. I don’t know what any one else reckons about Horrible Bosses, but many of us didn’t like this film.

  34. vivian says:

Horrible Bosses is at once a semipolitical thriller and a human drama. The flick opens in East Germany, in 1985, with a panorama where Captain Wemly, code name MadDog is proving his inquiry technique to a class of aspirant police officers, using a realistic video of his own query of a defendant. A scholar asks a query that the Captain evaluates to be a bit too compassionate (read “bourgeois”), and the teacher labels the student’s name on the attending record: surely this student has just flunked the course of study, or maybe worse.

During the Horrible Bossess first few minutes, the film director renders a portraiture of the Captain that seems to skirt on caricature: He is a highly skillful officer, a egotistical, zealous, regimented master. He is one of the numerous cogs in the wheel of the Organization, employed anonymously and indefatigably, certain that all his sweats are requisite for building up a better Socialist society.

  35. christy says:

Horrible Bosses – Johnny Smith, an ex-con, engineers a $3 million racetrack hold-up. His accomplices are race course teller George Waller, the barman Mike Luther, crooked policeman Randy Brent, and former alcoholic Marvin Sweetwater, who funds the operation. Johnnys fiancee, Linda, worries that he may be sent back to stir for the heist but he assures her that the chances are worth taking.

George needs the spoils to give to his irritable and egotistic wife Sherry, who is sleeping with with Val Madsen, who is trying to persuade Sherry to let him kill George so they can decamp with his cash. Mike needs the money to nurse his perpetually ill spouse. Randy is divulged to want the loot to buy off some local bookies for gambling losses.

Shortly after the beginning of Horrible Bosses, during their encounter, George captures Sherry snooping on them and suppresses her. He sends out the others, accepting George, home to speak with her. Johnny realises that Sherry is a gouger only out for cash, and he assures her that he will hand her a bountiful share of their moolah when it gets done. But Sherry, being who she is, advises Val who agrees to steal the loot later on so they can have it wholly for themselves.

Johnny hires Nikki Dewey, a hitman and Maurice Quentin, a former convict and Greco-Roman wrestler, to produce diversions at the jump of the 8th race when the hold-up will get down.

Here is how Horrible Bosses shows the holdup is performed in particular from peculiar points of view:

At the starting of the 8th race, Maurice starts a wrangle at Mikes saloon. The race courwse guards overcome him. While they are concerned, George opens up the door to the payroll department office and Johnny steals through. Johnny gets out a rapid-firing shotgun that Mike planted earlier in his locker, puts on a disguise and robs the five shop clerks at the payroll office. Johnny thrusts $3 million in cash into a massive pocketbook and hurls it out the window. Randy, ready and waiting below, receives the bag, drives to a motel, and leaves it in a room that Johnny is renting. Johnny then hightails it from the race course in the confusedness and scare caused when Nikki shoots down the race horse, Red Rusty, with a
high-powered rifle from a far-flung parking lot. But Nikki is obliterated by a police officer, who kills him as he tries to take flight.

Later On, George, Randy, Marvin and Mike wait at Johnnys abode for him to turn up with the plunder when they are dumbfounded by Val and a confederate of his demanding to know where the bread is. A shootout results and all are killed, except George who, though mortally injured, hauls himself home and tosses off Sherry who acknowledges that she deceived him, before dropping dead himself.

When Johnny finds that his collaborators are in difficulty, he squeezes the race track scratch in an old bag and proceeds to the airport and adjoins with Fay so they can depart the town. They both buy tickets to San Francisco, but the airport officials refuse to let Johnny carry the big grip on the jet plane, and he very reluctantly checks the suitcase .

On the runway, the luggage bearing the money drops off a luggage-truck] which swerves to avoid hitting a snobby, rich ladys miniature dog. The luggage splits open, and the booty is strewn in all directions.

In Horrible Bossess final scene Johnny and Fay attempt to escape from the airport, but cannot hail a cab. “What difference does it make?”, Johnny pronounces as the police force get closer and closer.

Horrible Bosses – In a Greek provincial town, Michel Brown, a mean head-master of a school belonging to his wife Ethel, a dainty young woman with a feeble heart, carries on an intimacy with Rhonda Powell, a impetuous, cocky teacher who was his paramour from the day she arrived. He has, all the same, handled her as treacherously as his wife, and the two have been drove into an alignment against him. Together they work out an elaborate design to free themselves of their shared teaser. Enticing him away from the academy to a coarse lodging house, they induce him to drink some doctored up liquor – and drown him in a bath.

The corpse is subsequently enclosed in a rayon blanket, bundled into a laundry basket, taken back to the school house, and after dark tipped into the squalid water of the academy pool. When, afterwards, the pool is emptied, seen in tortured prospect from a window by the women, no stiff is there. Shortly other unexplainable issues begin to go on, and later accounted sightings of the schoolmaster slowly drive his murderers (along with most of the audience) up the wall with almost unendurable suspense.

    Horrible Bosses is very good.

  41. lelia says:

In Horrible Bosses in the deserts of New Mexico during the declining life of the old western days, two triggermen all wearing long duster coats take over an out of the way depot and settle down to wait on the stagecoah. When it finally arrives, a unnamed stranger gets down and asks for somebody called Frank. The men tell the guy Frank sent them in his place. In the ensuing showdown, all the gun slingers go down. Only the stranger in Horrible Bosses gets up again.

The Horrible Bosses music to the introductory panorama is a inventive compilation of routine audios in the style of John Cage. The composer uses mundane sounds, to emphasize the tiresomeness of expecting the train. The scant dialog leaves the soundtrack to consume a good deal more of the audiences attention than a score usually does.

Horrible Bosses is a very fascinating picture show. Any person will remember the movie long after the movie ends.

  42. erica says:

Horrible Bosses – Examines the disenchantment of an old Dr., Professor Neldstrom, as he meditates upon his life-time and starts to comprehend his mortality.

Horrible Bosses opens when 80-year-old Isaac Neldstrom, is in bed at his house. He dreams of being on a town alleyway with nobody else present. A big clock hanging up above the street has no hands. He checks his own watch – it too has no hands. A figure appears with its back turned. Isaac goes up to the form and touches it. The figure has no face. The form crashes onto the pavement. Blood pours out of the form.

Immediately a hearse pulled by a brace of horses turns a street corner and comes into the alley on which the dream-Isac is standing. It comes up to Isaac and then goes on by him but its back wheel gets caught along a lamppost. Although no person is driving the hearse, the team of horses proceed forward. The left hindermost wheel chinks off at the lamppost. The team of horses and hearse drive off but the casket comes free, and slips out and onto the street. An arm appears on the outside of the coffin. Isaac looks at the hand. His own hand as well as the other one stretched out from the coffin reach, with the hand coming out of the coffin holding Isaac. The figure in the casket is also Isaac. Horrible Bosses shows him as he wakes.

As he travels to London to receive an honorary award after fifty years of medical practice, he finds himself over and over again affected by intrusive nightmares and delusions that reveal his most sinister dreads. He slowly comes to see in Horrible Bosses that the choices he made in the past tense have created a cold and bare life, devoid of real significance or respect.

Finally, at the end of Horrible Bosses he accomplishes repurchase and reintegration through forgiveness and the devotion of his kinsfolk. Five stars.

  43. allan says:

Horrible Bosses – Man Of The Cloth Obadiah Smith weds and murders widow women for their money, believing he is serving God to eliminate women who awaken mens physical instincts.

Picked Up for roberry, he shares a jail cell with doomed killer Jim Denson and attempts to get him to unveil the whereabouts of the $15,000 he stole. Only Jims ten-year-old son, Nate and three-year-old daughter, Jane know the money is in Janes doll and they have pledged to their dad to keep this secret.

After Jim is hanged, the Preacher goes to Darwins Landing to court Jims widow, Marie. He overpowers her with his Sacred Scripture citing, discourses and songs, and she agrees to wed him. On their marriage night he tells her they will neer have sex because it is unholy. When the dispirited, mystified, guilty woman watches him trying to impel Jane to let out the whereabouts of the cash, she is resigned to her doom.

In one of the most nervous moments of Horrible Bosses the kids manage to get away down river, with the Preacher pursuing right behind.

The kids are picked up by Wanda Cooper, a woman who has adopted umpteen lonely youngsters at the start of the depression. She bathes the two children, and integrates them into her big household. They understand they can rely upon Wanda.

When the Reverend turns up to demand the youngsters Wanda realises what kind of man he is, and will not let him anywhere near the youngsters. That night when the Preacher tried to sneak into the household she shoots him and contains him for the Sheriff.

In Horrible Bosses finale, the tykes at last see they have acquired a home. Fine movie.

Horrible Bosses – Explores the disenchantment of an old physician, Professor Neldstrom, as he meditates upon his lifespan and begins to comprehend his mortality.

Horrible Bosses opens when 80-year-old Isaac Neldstrom, is in bed at his house. He dreams of being on a city street with no-body present. A huge clock dangling over the street has no hands. He looks at his own watch – it also has no hands. A form appears with its back turned. Isaac goes to the shape and touches on it. The form doesnt have a face. The form tumbles onto the pavement. Blood streams out of the body.

Immediately a hearse dragged by a brace of horses turns a street corner and comes into the alley on which the dream-Isac is standing. It approaches Isaac and then goes on by him but its back wheel gets caught along a lamppost. Although no person is driving the hearse, the team of horses proceed forwards. The left hindmost wheel separates off at the lamp post. The horses and hearse chase away but the casket comes free, and slides out and onto the alley way. A paw appears on the exterior of the coffin. Isaac views the paw. His own hand and the other one stretched out from the coffin adjoin, with the arm coming out of the casket holding Isaac. The body in the coffin is also Isaac. Horrible Bosses shows him as he awakes.

He slowly comes to understand in Horrible Bosses that the options he made in the past tense have created a dead and empty life, devoid of real meaning or esteem.

Finally, at the end of Horrible Bosses he reaches repurchase and reintegration through pardon and the love of his kin. Five stars.

In Horrible Bosses the future Vistacity is a exceptional village, high over the footing its pillars support. The multitude thrive, the economic system is flourishing, the suspended streets are filled. Just the township also has a terrific secret, so well concealed that not even Philip, son of founding father Johnson knows it. He is expending his free time in the Pleasant Rest, when of a sudden a woman shows up, with what appears to be a division of tiddlers. They’re from the nearby city, in the depth, he discovers. “These are your uncles”, she says to the tykes, before she is drove to go away. The man is so fascinated he takes after them into the depth and never does care what he understands. The workers are used, they must do labour like automatons.

William essays to win over his brother to alter, while the teen gril seeks to keep workers team spirit elated by predicting a man will stand up that will liaise. A man that will use both hands and brain, someone that will be the heart and soul.

Horrible Bosses is a great movie.

Horrible Bosses – Johnny Johnson, an ex-con, directs a $3 million racetrack hold-up. His confederates are race way cashier George Dayton, the barman Mike Miller, crooked policeman Randy Kauffman, and former alcoholic Marvin Benson, who finances the operation. Johnnys fiancee, Linda, fears that he might return to stir for the heist but he assures her that the risks are worth taking.

George needs the proceeds to give to his grouchy and self-seeking wife Sherry, who is having an affair with Val Madson, whom is trying to sway Sherry to let him bump off George so they can make off with his money. Mike needs the money to care for his invariably sick spouse. Randy is revealed to need the money to buy off some local bookies for deep gambling debts.

Shortly after the beginning of Horrible Bosses, during their gathering, George grabs Sherry snooping on them and subjugates her. He charges the others, accepting George, home to talk with her. Johnny realises that Sherry is a chiseller only out for cash, and he tells her that he will hand her a big share of their dinero when it gets done. Only Sherry, being the woman she is, tells Val who concurs to steal the bounty afterwards so they can gain it altogether for themselves.

Johnny hires Nikki Barber, a hitman and Maurice Quentin, a former convict and Greek grappler, to make deflections at the starting of the 8th race when the robbery will go down.

Here is how Horrible Bosses shows the armed robbery is executed in detail from various points of view:

At the start of the 8th race, Maurice starts a brawl at Mikes tavern. The racecourse guards overcome him. While they are tied up, George opens the doorway to the payroll office and Johnny steals through. Johnny gets out a rapid-firing scattergun that Mike planted earlier in his footlocker, puts on a masque and robs the three clerks at the payroll office. Johnny stuffs $3 million in hard cash into a large traveling bag and casts it out the window. Randy, ready and waiting below, receives the bag, drives to a motel, and throws it in a room that Johnny is leasing. Johnny then runs from the racetrack in the disarray and terror caused when Nikki kills the racehorse, Red Rusty, with a
high powered rifle from a far-flung parking lot. But Nikki is obliterated by a policeman, who shoots him down as he tries to take flight.

Later, George, Randy, Marvin and Mike wait at Johnnys apartment for him to return with the lucre when they are amazed by Val and an accomplice of his wanting to find out where the moolah is. A gun fight ensues and everybody is killed, except George who, though gravely wounded, drags himself home and wipes out Sherry who acknowledges that she cheated on him, before popping off himself.

When Johnny learns that his partners are in trouble, he puts the race track prize in an old traveling bag and breaks to the airport and adjoins with Fay so they can leave behind town. They both buy tickets to Boston, but the airport personnel refuse to let Johnny pack the massive suitcase on the airplane, and he reluctantly checks the grip .

On the airport runway, the bag carrying the booty drops off a baggage-truck which veers to keep from striking a snott, rich ladys dog. The travelling bag ruptures open, and the booty is splashed in all directions.

In Horrible Bossess final aspect Johnny and Fay attempt to escape from the airport, but they fail to hail a taxicab. “Dont really matter, does it?”, Johnny pronounces as the law close in on them.

Horrible Bosses – In the Eucadoran jungle, supplies of treacherous nitroglycerin are urgently needed at a almost inaccessible oil field, to try and quench an oil-well fire that is nearly burning out of control.

A convoy of motortrucks driven by 4 freedom fighters transports the exceedingly risky nitroglycerin. A cliff-hanging rivallry builds up betwixt the two sets of drivers, where on the unkind and distant routes the slightest shock can result in destruction in Horrible Bosses.

Their prolonged, wrenching drive over high-risk roads with their freight ready to explode at every jerk and jar makes Horrible Bosses very wound up and electrifying. The teams are gambling with their own lives against the chance to break loose from their steaming, nasty and sordid environment.
